I've tried several recipes for roasting turkeys, and this is a good one!

1 (12 lb) whole turkey
1 stick butter, softened
4 c warm water
3 T chicken bouillon
2 T dried parsley
2 T dried minced onion
2 T seasoned salt
1 lemon, sliced
1 onion, quartered
4 cloves garlic, peeled and halved
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Rinse and pat dry with paper towels. Discard giblets.
2. Place turkey in roasting pan, breast side up.
3. Carefully loosen the skin over the breasts, making little pockets. Rub 4 T of softened butter under the skin on each side.
4. In medium bowl, combine the warm water with the bouillon, parsley and dried onion. Pour over the top of the turkey. Sprinkle with seasoned salt (or just salt & pepper)
5. Place lemon, onion, and garlic into the cavity of the turkey. Cover turkey with foil, crimping around edge of pan.
6. Roast for 2 1/2 hours and remove the foil. Continue cooking for another 2 hours, until internal temperature reaches 180 degrees.
7. Remove from oven and let sit at least 30 minutes before carving, for juices to settle.
