3 T. butter
1 10-oz bag marshmallows
1/2 c. caramel sauce ( homemade or store-bought)
6 c. Rice Krispies ( or Cocoa Krispies! )
1 c. peanuts, plus more for sprinkling on top
8 fun-size Snickers bars, chopped
1 1/4 c. milk chocolate chips
1/4 c. creamy peanut butter
Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish; set aside.
Melt the butter and marshmallows together in a lg saucepan over low heat. Once melted, stir in the caramel sauce and remove from heat.
Stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated with the sauce. Working quickly, stir in the peanuts and chopped Snickers bars, mixing as gently as possible.
Pour/spoon the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press into an even layer. Use the back of a greased wooden spoon to press down firmly over the surface and pack down tightly.
Melt together the chocolate chips and peanut butter in the microwave at 50% power, stirring every 30 seconds, until completely smooth. Pour this over the Rice Krispie treats and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts.
Refrigerate at least 30 minutes before cutting and EATING. Store leftovers in an airtight container, either at room temp ( for softer, more gooey bars ) or in the fridge ( for firmer bars )
