4 oz unsweetened chocolate
2 T butter
4 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp vanilla
dash of salt
Melt the chocolate and butter together in a saucepan over very low heat., stirring occasionally. In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, milk, vanilla and salt. Add the melted chocolate mixture and stir to blend well.
Let stand, if necessary, until of spreading consistency, stirring occasionally. Spread quickly over cake,, adding small amount of milk to thin if necessary.
Makes 2 1/2 cups.
